Ages 2-3…Ballerina Babies and Dancing Dudes (My Dancer & Me)
Share those special smiles and hugs in our class designed especially for the parent and toddler. Students explore movement and music in a fun, creative way. Our instructors use imagination games and props to inspire and excite students about dance. Your child will learn to march, jump, hop and skip. With ample room to move and dance, you and your toddler will discover the joy of dancing together, creating a bond to last a lifetime. (This is a non-performing class)
Ages 3-6…Demi Pliè and Pirouette
Our youngest students’ first steps into the world of dance. Children will enjoy a dance class including creative movement, ballet and tap while developing their imagination. The emphasis in this class is on FUN!
Ages 6-9…Arabesque and Jazz/Tap
A dance class combining both jazz and tap. Dancers will explore a world of creativity through music, dance and expression. Classes will begin with center and floor stretches followed by across the floor progressions and dance combinations. These classes are a fun and well rounded introduction to both Jazz and Tap for our young students.
Ages 7-12…Hip Hop
Class will include fun, exciting, and energetic movements! Through the fundamentals of hip-hop, combined with popular dance moves of today, students will develop coordination, identify rhythm, plus build confidence and performance quality.
Ages 8-18…Ballet
The foundation of all dance forms. This class emphasizes the development of ballet skills with a focus on body placement, alignment, strength and technique. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through barre and center floor work, in addition to choreography. Class may be taken singly or as an excellent accompaniment to a dancer’s schedule to enhance training.
Ages 10-18… Contemporary
Contemporary dance is a style that uses the emotion and mood of the music to elicit movements from the dancer. It combines elements of jazz, modern, lyrical and ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through dance movements. Self expression, musicality and versatility are vital aspects of the class.
Ages 9-18…Jazz
This high energy class incorporates isolations, extensive center and floor stretches, as well as progressions across the floor, and fun upbeat choreography. Emphasis is on developing individual strength, flexibility and rhythm.
Ages 9-18…Tap
Tap classes are designed to develop rhythmic skills, precision and musicality. Class begins with center tap exercises followed by complex and intricate progressions across the floor and challenging choreography. Emphasis is on developing proper tap technique and executing strong clear tap sounds.
Ages 12-18…*Pointe
Dancers must be recommended to class by instructor and attend a second Ballet class per week. Class will begin with stretches and exercises to strengthen the ankles, feet and legs, essential for proper execution of movement. Class includes barre work with focus on flexibility, control and balance. Pointe classes are offered only to advanced students with both technical and body strength.
Ages 11-18…*Company and *Ensemble
For the more advanced dancer. Students must audition for placement in these classes and are REQUIRED to take a minimum of one Ballet class. Beginning in January, additional rehearsal time is MANDATORY. Regular attendance is ESSENTIAL and REQUIRED. Dancers are EXPECTED to participate in all community performances.
